Is it time for our hangout already?

No way. Try me.
Where are we off to?

Are you finally getting to wash your clothes from the first week?
no subject
I threw those away. There was no salvaging them.
no subject
Want me to show you how they work?
[ time for them to get a glittery makeover ]

On it! Give me a second to wrap up what I'm doing.
[ yeah
makes it seem like he wasn't doing nothing and peeks in like ten minutes later. hi. ]
no subject
medea never says bye on the compact, so she'll get cursed eventually, but when he peeks in ten minutes later, medea is seated on the counter with a book on her lap. ]
I'll time how long until you run away again.
[ with what? it doesn't matter. ]
no subject
That was me being respectful of your time. [ okay. sure. ] You can have my company as long as you want today to make up for it.
Did you have any laundry to do or is it just me?
no subject
[ she smiles at him, as if testing him. ]
Do you think I've ever done any laundry?
no subject
anyway ]
You would've had to at some point. Unless… you've been wearing something new every single day?
no subject
she looks at him with an expression that would read as duh? if medea's nature weren't so cold by default. ]
We have access to enough clothes.
no subject
Fair enough. That's a lot more effort than using these machines now that they exist, though. You don't look like you wear just anything, and no matter where you go, there's always a mountain of junk to sift through first. On top of that? Who knows where they've been.
[ Hygiene… is so important… low-key shades. ]
… But you load them up like this, add detergent, then press start. The settings are pretty self-explanatory, but if you want to play it safe, just keep it at the default of a gentle cycle.
Then! It's a waiting game. [ He leans back against the other machines, glancing over at her. ] What were you reading?
no subject
every day she is mad that the river took her combat ability this week or she'd throw a random sock at him. she watches him use the machine. ]
It would make the servants' jobs easier. It seems simple enough. [ in theory.
she holds up the book so he can see. ]
A history book on a country from another world. [ it's on (spins wheel) france. ]
no subject
But don't mind him as he tilts his head to read the text. What's a France? Who knows. Clearly not as important as washing machines as he just straightens out without much interest. ]
If you're hoping to take the knowledge back with you, I can recommend some reading. You've probably noticed just being here, but being able to harvest a power source opens the door to a lot of other conveniences, doesn't it?
[ medea casually inventing electricity… medea edison ]
no subject
she also didn't know a france before she opened this book. learning about the french revolution and the guillotine has been very interesting to her.
she nods. if only she can be tesla and edison both. ]
Electricity would be very useful. From what I can understand about it. [ guns would be neat so she could just kill eros and his entire guard? haha j/k... unless? ] But I'd need to find people to bring it all to life and keep it secret while in development.
[ not so easy when eros is eros. ]
But I'm open to anything you want to recommend.
no subject
I'm still learning about it myself, but if you want to talk to a real expert, there's very little Dahut doesn't know. A genuine genius—and helpful, too, always willing to field questions.
no subject
she seems thoughtful since her conversations with dahut don't go down that route. ]
You think very highly of him. I'll reach out to him.
no subject
[ like he's got his own squad of lethal company employees supplying him with bits and bobs… ]
You haven't had the chance to see any of them?
