A trade, sure. But yeah it's a power. It's called a Persona, not many people have them. My friends and I do but we haven't told anybody else either.

Wow... There are a few of you here in that kind of weird situation, huh? The "it's just me or me and one random guy and no one else in the whole world" thing. Did your power get delivered to you by a strange and energetic entity that doesn't explain things well, too?

No, ours was different. Have you been talking to Tsukasa?

Mm-hm! I was wondering how common that sort of thing was...

Not that common. Tsukasa's SEKAI is different than what happened for us, but there are some similarities. Our powers are just a different part of us, and usually we can only summon them in a different world.

Hm... But you can summon them here just fine, clearly! Or - is there anything different about the way they're summoned here compared to what you're used to?

Yeah, that was a surprise. [ but he shakes his head. ] When we're in the TV world, it just happens whenever we call on them. It's the same thing here, too. The first time I did it here was a longshot, but I haven't had problems since... other than some of my abilities don't work here.

My healing isn't working right. [ which is worrisome and also annoying. ] Usually I have a spell I can use that heals a lot and also makes us stronger and faster in battle. But I tried it before and it didn't do much of anything at all.

Huh... And that's the only thing that doesn't work right? That you know of so far, anyway.

Yeah. My wind spells work fine otherwise, and the physical attacks still hit just as hard. The healing's the only thing that fizzles out before it even starts, and yeah, sometimes my spells don't hit our enemies but my healing always works.

It must be frustrating, but I'm sure it isn't you! We can gather more data and see if there are any similar trends among other people who have abilities here. Maybe there's a little bit here and there that isn't up to par in everyone.

A little, yeah. Like it's a good thing nobody's been so badly hurt it's been a huge problem, but I don't like that the option's gone right now. I haven't heard about other people's healing abilities being tampered with, but if your original idea about us maybe not needing it because of where we are is right that'd explain some stuff.

Aha, nope! That's pretty much exactly it. Field testing is great until you get into a situation where you really don't know what you're working with even down to the basic levels of how reality itself is structured, you know?

So then what you're saying is we need to be figuring out the basics and how to pick those apart before moving on to testing the more advanced stuff. Makes sense. But... the "how" is where I'm not sure where to go.

Good question, good question. Maybe we can get a group together to brainstorm later? It might be smart to share all of the stuff we're figuring out, anyway!

I've been thinking about that. Now that we have a better idea who's around and what kind of stuff everybody's experiencing it can't hurt to compare notes.

Aha, higher than I'd have ever thought possible before, I think! [HE THOUGHT IT WAS 0% POSSIBLE BEFORE.] At the very least, it definitely seems to respond like an organism that isn't entirely inert.

If that's the case, then we'd have to find the center of it. Right? But that's giving in to what it wants.
